Does God have a Body?
Does God Have a Body?
Does God have a body and will we in the next life? The descriptions of original creation in Genesis 2 and 3 describe God breathing, speaking, and walking. He breathed life into Adam’s nostrils. He told Adam what was okay to eat. He touched Adam when He took a rib to create Eve. He walked among the trees after Adam and Eve ate the apple. Having a physical body is a part of the original creation – it is reasonable to assume that even without other Biblical references (there are many) when God restores creation, clothing the ‘perishable with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality’1 Corinthians 15:53 we will continue to have a physical body, and it will be immortal, imperishable and untouchable by death as we understand it.
So, the answer is ‘YES!’ God DOES have a body and so will we in the next life (regardless of your eternal destination choice) Now remember, the Bible has no reference to exactly what that body will look like. A friend of mine once theorized that we will all look like we did when we were 25 years old. He believed that because at that age a human being is ‘full-grown’ and in the best shape it will EVER be. (Insert here that my friend was in his 70’s when he posed this theory)! 😊Have a great day and give God the glory for it!
